Sustainable Development Principles, statement of Purpose & Values
The procedure for defining the governing principles of sustainable development in the form of a statement of purpose and values is:
1. Through workshop with the sustainability team an interactive exercise to identify
The organisation’s statement of purpose (with respect to its activities, products and services related to events)
The organisation’s values (with respect to its activities, products and services related to events)
How the following principles have been considered:
i. Stewardship (e.g. how do you consider a responsible planning approach and a responsible approach to managing and caring for the resources you are using)
ii. Inclusivity (e.g. how do you consider the exclusion of no groups)
iii. Integrity (e.g. how do you consider your responsibility for doing what you said you would do, when you said you would do it, in the way you said you would do it)
iv. Transparency (e.g. how do you consider your information being made visible or easily accessible)
v. How the principles, purpose and values of the organisation shall provide a framework for setting its policies, objectives and targets
2. This procedure will be implemented and reviewed annually during the sustainability team workshop.
