Leadership and commitment

The procedure for demonstrating leadership and commitment with respect to the event sustainability management system:

1. Through meeting with top management a discussion to ensure:

  • Policies and objectives are established for the management system

  • These policies and objectives are compatible with the strategic direction of the organisation

  • The management system requirements integrate into the organisation’s business processes

  • The resources required for the successful implementation of the management system are available

  • Communication is made about the importance of effective event sustainability management and conforming to management system requirements

  • The management system achieves its intended outcome (s)

  • Direction and support is given to those who are contributing to the effectiveness of the management system

  • Promotion of continual improvement

  • Support is provided to other relevant management roles so they can demonstrate their leadership as it applies to their areas of responsibility

2. This procedure will be implemented and reviewed annually during the sustainability team workshop.
