Support the creation of a sustainable event sector

Understand the collaboration opportunities to advance sustainable engagement strategies.

Positive Impact understands that the future of the event sector depends on how it markets itself as being able to deliver sustainable engagement.

In other words demonstrating the positive impact of the marketing spend.

As a not for profit that exists to create a sustainable event sector, spending your marketing budget with Positive Impact is also investing in the future for the event sector.

Below are a list of collaborative initiatives which will support the creation of a sustainable event sector, enhance your brand credibility* AND deliver a positive impact:

1. Gifting

Give your team or clients the gift of knowledge with the range of CPD certified education.

For example a global event tech company recently added the option of CPD education to their staff gifting list.

2. Awareness Raising

Share your best practice through one of the Positive Impact campaigns so you not only get to showcase your leadership to your target market but also support the global Positive Impact community to take action.

For example a destination wanted to take action to build awareness of their sustainability credentials and supported the creation of resources which empowered over 1,600 Positive Impact Ambassadors to take action.

3. Enabling

Make it possible for groups to gather to act on specific areas of change.

For example a corporate wanted to identify an approach to carbon which could be used by their peers and supported the start of The Race to Zero Accelerator for event sector SMEs.

4. Giving Back

Market your product as making an impact by assigning a percentage to support Positive Impact initiatives. This could include growing the Event Grad community beyond the 20 universities currently collaborated with or empowering the Positive Impact leaders community with resources.

5. Sponsorship

If your goal is traditional logo placement and a thank you reference, we can make that happen. We think you could have more impact by taking a different approach, but we understand sometimes this is a good starting point.

*Please be aware that Positive Impact may require evidence of your sustainability commitments, such as membership of the Race to Zero before collaborating with you on certain initiatives.

Who are the Positive Impact community?

Our About page is a good place to start and understand the history of Positive Impact.

For over 15 years not for profit Positive Impact have been providing engagement, collaboration and education to create a sustainable event industry. You could describe Positive Impact as the ‘critical friend’ of the global event sector.

Our funding comes from everywhere and nowhere, and every penny, cent or yen is used to advance the event sector so every time an event happens the UN Sustainable Development Goals are advanced and events are recognised as ensuring 'participation and inclusion in decision making’ (UN SDG16).

As of February 2024, Positive Impact has a community of almost 2,000 global event professionals, over 40 corporate Head of Events, over 40 Corporate Head of Sustainability, over 160 SMEs with a Race to Zero commitment, over 5 memorandums of understanding with United Nations bodies.

We are the only event sector body to be a Race to Zero Accelerator, UN SDG Action mobiliser and to have education certified by the world’s largest and leading CPD accreditation working across all sectors, so our education is accessed by heads of marketing, HR and sustainability.
