代表の紹介

フィオナ・ペラム氏は、持続可能なイベント部門を創造するために、教育、連携、協力を提供する国際的な非営利団体Positive Impact Events （2005年設立）のCEOです。この活動は、人と人との繋がりが将来的に国連の持続可能な開発目標をどのように推進するかを探求することであるともいえます。

現在、Positive Impact Eventsは、UNFCCC、国連環境計画、国連SDGsアクション・キャンペーンを含む多くの国連機関と覚書を交わしています。2019年に、フィオナ氏は、利益相反が生じないようにするため、自ら立ち上げたイベントマネージメント事業およびサステナビリティ・コンサルタント事業を閉鎖しました。

フィオナ氏は、イベントにおける持続可能性のための国際標準規格（ISO）策定の議長を務め、当時、ISO規格の議長としては史上最年少の女性でした。また、国連環境計画や、世界最大のイベントプランナー協会であるMeeting Professionals Internationalの議長として、など、これまでに多くのワーキンググループに参加してきています。

また、イベント業界における持続可能性の認知度を高めた貢献により、リーズ・ベケット大学から名誉博士号を授与されています。

仕事を通じて、フィオナ氏は旅に出る機会も多く、現在はコペンハーゲンに住んでいます。

自身が名付け親である6人の子ども達（オーストラリアに2人、イギリスに4人）と過ごす時間を好み、イギリス、マンチェスターでは地元のサッカークラブでボランティアをしています。

フィオナ氏は、常に新しいアイデアをもって行動する創造的な人間であり、それが、彼女自身が望む様な人生を歩むことに役立っていると語っています。

Fiona Pelham is the CEO of global not for profit Positive Impact <http://www.positiveimpactevents.com/> which provides education, engagement and collaboration to create a sustainable event sector. In other words exploring how the future of human connection will advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Positive Impact has memorandums of understanding with a number of United Nations bodies including UNFCCC, UN Environment and UN SDG Action and in 2019 Fiona took the decision to close the event management and sustainability consultancy business she launched (in 2004 and 2008) to ensure there could be no conflicts of interest in conversations for the transformation of the event sector.

Fiona was the chair of an international standard for sustainability in events, and at the time was the youngest ever female chair for any ISO standard. Alongside this she has been involved in a number of working groups including the United Nations Environment programme and chair of Meeting Professionals International <https://www.mpiweb.org/> the world’s largest association for event planners.

Fiona has also been awarded an honorary doctorate by Leeds Beckett University for her services to the event industry raising the profile of sustainability.

Through her work, Fiona has created plenty of opportunities for travel, and currently lives in Copenhagen (og hun lærte at tale lidt dansk i Covid tid). She loves to spend time with her six godchildren (two in Australia and four in the UK) and when in Manchester volunteers at her local football club.

She would describe herself as a creative person who is always ready to act on new ideas, and this has helped her to create her life to be how she wants it. Not that it has been without challenges, and one of the main goals of this website is to share her experience and make life a little bit easier for people who are currently starting or growing a business in a way that works for them.
